Annual magazine focused on festive culture, published by the Diputació de València.
It brings together research articles alongside visual materials such as photography and illustration galleries, featuring contributions by Martín López Lam (illustration) and Cipriano Fornás (photography). The editorial design embraces a sober style that enhances the reading experience and emphasizes the content. This sobriety deliberately contrasts with the expressive tone of the illustrations and with certain design gestures—such as in the table of contents, where text and image are superimposed—that introduce visual tension and serve as a statement of intent. Illustrations are treated as autonomous content rather than simple accompaniment to the texts, integrated through a carefully considered editorial approach that supports a more radical, critical, and contemporary take on popular festive expressions.
On a material level, the production is intentionally restrained, with different paper stocks used according to content type. The cover features a tipped-in plate over a debossed surface, adding a subtle tactile dimension to the object. The format, comfortable and flexible in the hand, reinforces its readability and editorial intent.
