Design and Art Direction,
An annual magazine dedicated to festive culture, published by the Diputació de València (Valencia Provincial Council). It brings together research articles alongside visual materials such as photography and illustration galleries, with contributions from Isidro Ferrer (illustration) and Eliseu Roig (photography).
The editorial design favors a restrained style that enhances the reading experience and focuses on the content. This restraint deliberately contrasts with the expressive tone of the illustrations and with certain design choices—such as in the table of contents, where text and image overlap—that introduce visual tension and act as a statement of intent. The illustrations are treated as independent content, not merely as accompaniment to the texts, and are integrated into the discourse with careful editorial logic, opting for a more radical, critical, and contemporary perspective on popular festive expressions. From a material standpoint, a restrained production approach is chosen, with paper types varying according to the content. The cover incorporates a debossed print, adding a subtle tactile dimension to the object. The comfortable and flexible format reinforces its intended use as a book.
