Poster, graphic identity and catalog of the exhibition. Image and design of the book (about 400 pages) for an important exhibition about photography and posters in the spanish civil war era.
Avoiding the topical images of this theme, I made an image based on typographic trends in Valencia at the referred time, from a contemporary perspective. The image must act as a visual identity, applied to the different communication pieces and catalog of the exhibition. The exhibition contains photographs, posters and documents from the period in which Valencia was the seat of the government of the Republic during the civil war, among the material abounds elements of anarchist propaganda with illustrations and typographic signs of Art Deco style. The proposal alludes to the signs used by anarchist unions of the time in their logos and posters, in which simple geometric forms replace elements of typography. Chromaticism is related to the anarchist colors, and of the republic. In addition to the posters in format 70 x 100 cm, have been made very large adaptations for different facades of the historic headquarters of the University of Valencia, where the exhibition takes place.
